Since I am no longer compelled to get up early and do the commuter hustle, I've been thinking of still getting up early a couple of mornings a week to write. What would I write? Well, let's see.
- I could write in my journal
- I could pick up where I left off the night before (an article, research or some other writing-related task).
- I could explore a new topic, or new slant that visited me the night before.
- I could freewrite. You know start writing and just go where the muse leads.
Knowing that I have a hair salon appointment this morning and won't be back home until about 11.30 am, I figured I'd better try this early morning thing, see how it goes, how it feels. Fighting against the urge to remain under the warm covers, I swung my legs off the bed and dragged myself to the desk.
And there you go. This is what I produced. Not bad. Feels good too.
Some writers say that it doesn't matter what you write when you just write, freewrite. So I suppose I did well.
What about you? Are you one of those writers who get up before the crack of dawn and engage in the early morning dance with words?
Have a productive day fellow writers.
